SQL Server PDW content at the PASS Summit

The PASS Summit is coming up on us fast and there is a lot of exciting content around SQL Server 2008 R2 Parallel Data Warehouse.  Not only can you attend regular sessions discussing SQL PDW, but you can stop by and see the appliance’s from both Dell and HP in the exhibition hall.  Looking for more info on SQL PDW?  Stop by the Scalable Data Warehouse Pod in the Microsoft Product Pavilion in the exhibition hall or Data Warehousing table in the Microsoft ExpertPod area on the sixth floor.  I will be staffing all these booths at one time or another, please stop by and say hello.

PDW Architecture and Internals [DBA-405]

A review of the hardware and software components and internals of the SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse appliance. We will review the hardware layouts, the basic components of the system. We will examine the physical layout of data in a PDW appliance, including the differences between replicated and partitioned tables. We will then review the basics of parallel query execution, with an example showplan step-through for PDW.
